You have the answer

How was dinner last night? You did have dinner last night, right?
How about breakfast? Any chance you skipped it so you could give your kids something to eat before school because there wasn't enough food in the house for all of you? Probably not. Thankfully these aren't things that most of us have to worry about. But with the economy tanking, more and more people are facing these problems. People who never thought they'd find themselves in this position are making decisions they never contemplated a few months ago.

This month 37 food bloggers in Oregon are banding together to raise awareness of this...epidemic may not be too strong a word...and urging all of you who have to help those in need by donating money to the Oregon Food Bank. The Oregon Food Bank coordinates the efforts of 915 hunger relief agencies in Oregon and Clark County, Washington. These are people fighting the good fight who need our help. I'll interrupt myself because President Obama had something to say on this from his inaugural address:
"What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility—a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation and the world; duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task."

Those of us who have must seize this moment to help those who don't. Please click here or on the logo on the sidebar anytime during the month to do not just what you can, but what you must!
**And so we can track your donations and report on how it's going, we're asking that you enter "Blog for Food" in the "Tribute Gift: In honor of:" space on the donation form. Thanks!

Hey, I'd really like to participate in this as a blogger. My family used to get donations from the Food Bank when I was a kid, and I'd love to help in a way other than just with money or food donations.

Can you let me know if I can still help? I'll check the OFB site too. Thanks!

I didn't hear anything about this until now. Is it too late to get in on it?
