Three cheers for Three Cups!

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that my good friend David Relin's (that's David on the right above) book Three Cups of Tea was one of five finalists in the nonfiction category for the very prestigious Kiriyama Prize, which in their words: "was established in 1996 to recognize outstanding books about the Pacific Rim and South Asia that encourage greater mutual understanding of and among the peoples and nations of this vast and culturally diverse region."
Well, imagine how happy and proud I am to report that I received an email late last night from David sharing the good news that his book was chosen as the winner of the 2007 Kiriyama award. Kudos again to David for sharing this amazing story, and again I encourage all of you to grab a copy of this most important work. It's out in paperback and you can go to the Three Cups website or your favorite bookstore to get your copy. Bravo!
